This project was submitted during an international competition for the design of the new Faculty of Architecture in Venice. The brief was challenging as the site location was on the La Giudecca Island. The design approach of this project was to create a building made out of glass for all public activities connected through a monumental staircase within the building, which connected to all the classrooms. The glazed building incorporated two auditoriums, capable of being divided into smaller conference rooms. The design also took into account several 'bio-climatic' solutions, such as the creation of wind chimneys and the use of external screening to reduce the impact of the sun on the glazed building.
