Situated in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea, in the well-known Cadogan square, this project involved the connection of two dwellings through the creation of a new staircase within a Grade II Listed building. The conservation of the historic building’s fabric was a priority together with the fulfilment of the client’s needs. All of the internal spaces were carefully redesigned to meet the criteria dictated by the conservation office, while also reflecting the character and feel the client wanted to achieve within their new development. The bathroom and floor finishes were selected and sourced directly from Italy, making these a real feature in the new design. The client had requested a feasibility study to further excavate at basement level, creating an extended area, which consisted of a swimming pool, wellness suite and wine cellar.
